When we purchased our home in the Northern California Foothills it was due in large part to our love of wildlife. We have, since that time, constantly been remodeling our acreage with the goal of creating a wildlife refuge in our own backyard.
One to the first and most enjoyable group of residents we attracted was the large and varied native songbird population. We have counted more than 60 breeds that visit our feeders have photographed most of them.
We have set up viewing and photography stations that allow close proximity to the subjects as well as comfortable surrounding for the photographers. We have also “naturalized” the feeders so images can be taken of the birds in their own habitat!
