Each year millions of Monarch Butterflies converge along the coast of California to breed and store up food for their long migratory journey. They will swarm in tremendous groups to certain areas where they calmly take care of all life’s necessities at once with very little else on their minds. Imagine sitting in a serene grove of trees where the soft rustling that reaches your ears is not a breeze in the leaves at all but millions of brightly colored butterfly wings beating simultaneously as the graceful inhabitants fill the air and trees all around you.
This is a sensory experience that everyone should participate in at least once. To be able to wander among these delicate creatures and have them pose for your inspection and investigation, in large and small groups alike, is possibly one of the most enjoyable afternoons you will ever spend.
