Having established a large hummingbird feeding station along traditional migration routes, we have intimate photography access to approximately 300 hummers a day during the peak in spring and fall. We regularly photograph Rufus, Anna’s, Allen’s, Blackchin, and Calliope, with occasional visits by Broadtail and Costas .
It is not unusual to have hummers land on the feeder while still in our hands before we even get a chance to hang it! Imagine sitting on a covered patio in early morning, enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee and having the hummers around you like bees at a hive. It is truly fascinating watching these flying jewels fueling up for another busy day and the photographic opportunities presented are endless!
